VALDES SET FOR BARCELONA COACHING ROLE

Barcelona legend Victor Valdes is setto take up a coaching role at the club according to the latest reports coming out of the Spanish media.

It was revealed that the former Barcelona shot stopper is on course to become a coach at his beloved club. Victor Valdes came through the famed La Masia Academy before making his debut for the club in 2002. He spent twelve years with the first team squad at the Nou Camp before he left in 2014.

The specific publication from Sport said thathe’s on course to return to Barcelona in a coaching role.It was revealed that new club president Joan Laporta has made it his duty to mend fences with key Barcelona figures that had been shunned or left the club until now.

The report said that Valdes is among the major Barcelona figures mentioned above and that Laporta has already reached outto Victor Valdes with the intention of getting him to return to coach the next generation of goalkeepers at the La Masia Academy.

Valdes returned to Barcelona to coach Juvenil A two years ago but things didn’t work out as expected but Laporta is hoping that the former Manchester United and Middlesbrough shot stopper would return to the club in a slightly different role.

Barcelona legend Victor Valdes didn’t have the best of exits as a player when he left the club some seven years ago and things didn’t change much when he left as a coach two years ago.

As a player with the Barcelona first team, Victor Valdes won several major trophies including three Champions League titles and four La Liga titles.
