VALDES CONSIDERED QUITTING

Barcelona Goalkeeper Victor Valdes has revealed that he once thought about quitting the game in the initial stages of his career. The Spanish international spoke to publication DT about his development at the Camp Nou and how he was forced to enter therapy in his teenage years.

“At 18, I thought about quitting football, but thanks to therapy I continued and the support of my family helped me change my mind.”

He has handled the pressures of being the last line of defence for the Blaugrana for the past seven years, and he added, “I am not a person who throws in the towel.”
