Boro have reportedly made a bid of £5 million for the Republic of Ireland international.

Former Manchester City keeper Joe Hart is set to make a return to the Premier League to feature for West Ham. The Hammers are expected to offload Randolph or Adrian this summer so Boro are positioning to take advantage.

The Teesiders were sent packing from the top flight at the end of last term. Garry Monk is hoping to build a solid team that can rule the English Championship. After their relegation, Valdes and Brad Guzan exited the squad.

Monk still has first choice experienced hands DimiKonstantopoulos. The Greek keeper is likely to remain and there is also young keeper Connor Ripley. Monk wants the 30-year old Randolph to join his goalkeeping options. Konstantopoulos and Connor are on the extremes in terms of experience and age but Randolph represents a balance.

Boro wanted Newcastle United keeper Karl Darlow but their £5 million bid was rejected. While they are watching further developments the Hart opportunity came up. Crystal Palace submitted a bid for Adrian but reports say West Ham are also considering bids for Randolph as one keeper would likely remain at the London Stadium to play second fiddle.

Aside Randolph and Darlow, there are options for Boro in CostelPantilimon. The former Sunderland keeper joined Watford in 2016 but he has struggled to get game time. The Romanian international was decent for the current Championship side – which would have employed him more now that Jordan Pickford is gone. Watford would need a decent backup for first choice Heurelho Gomes so they might not be keen on releasing the player.
